The professional contacts associated with American Drainage Products introduced the company to an inventor who required help in the design and development of a plastic folding sawhorse that was under development. After six years manufacturing drainage products, American Drainage Products was purchased by its main competitor, NDS, which presently has sales in excess of $100 million annually. This business was responsible for cultivating many contacts within the retail and wholesale markets that proved invaluable in the current business model. In the early 1990's the Company developed a line of plastic landscape drainage products, forming a new company, American Drainage Products, which sold the products through distributors and sales representatives. The traffic control & safety devices are currently being marketed under the name Three D Traffic Works. Currently the company business operates principally in two segments: (i) contract injection molding to meet the requirements of specific clients and (ii) proprietary traffic control & safety devices. However, overseas competition over the years has eroded margins and new business opportunities the company began looking into the development of proprietary plastic products.
